1 Thessalonians 3:1-5

We sent Timothy to strengthen and encourage you in your faith, so that no one would be unsettled or shaken by these trials

1. Strength – companionship to overcome trials

We sent Timothy to strengthen you

NOT “oppressed by trials” because of companions

2. Encouragement – courage to overcome temptations

We sent Timothy to encourage you

NOT “overpowered by temptations” because of encouragers

3. Faith – confidence to overcome timidity

We sent Timothy to build up your faith

NOT “overwhelmed by timidity” or fear because of confidence
