Recognized Change

Acts 4:1-14

“When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.”

Five “P’s” for Christ-centered Change

1. Person-centered – Acts 4:1-13 (Acts 3:1-10)

Centered in the person of Jesus Christ & a personal call

They took note that these men had been with Jesus

2. Process of renewal – Romans 12:1-2

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.

3. Putting off the old – Ephesians 4:20-22

You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted …

4. Putting on the new – Ephesians 4:23-24

You were taught … and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness …

5. Powered by Prayer – Acts 2:42; 3:1, 16; 4:10, 23-31

They devoted themselves to prayer (2:42)

They met together praising God (2:47)

They were going to the temple to pray (3:1)
