I will test you with pleasure to find out what is good

Five evaluations of excess:

• Delights – 2:1-3 (laughter & liquor)

I tried cheering myself and embracing folly

 

• Desires – 2:4-9 (lavishness & luxury)

I built…I bought…I amassed & acquired

 

• Designs – 2:10-11 (labor)

My heart took delight in all my work

 

• Darkness – 2:12-15 (loneliness)

Wisdom is better than folly, as light is better than darkness

 

• Dawning – 2:16 (light)

In days to come both wise & foolish will be forgotten
