Romans study: Prayer Reminders – Romans 1:8-13
“Constantly I remember you in my prayers at all times”
Two Continuous Acts of Celebration:
- Communion with God: prayer & remembrance (1:8-10)
First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you
Three activities of prayerful communion with God:
- God, whom I serve (1:9) – “worship the LORD your God”
- God, whom I speak (1:10) – “pray without ceasing”
- God, whom I seek (1:11) – “may Your will be done”
- Concern for Church: prayer & encouragement (1:11-13)
That we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith
Three activities of prayerful concern for the Church:
- Devoted remembering prayer – “pray for one another”
- Devoted reinforcing prayer – “build one another up”
- Devoted reassuring prayer – “encourage one another”
