The Great Day of the LORD

Zephaniah 1:1-18

“The cry on the day of the LORD will be bitter”

Day of the LORD – a three-alarm response:

“On that day”

1. Be Warned

I will sweep away everything – 1:2

1:2-6 = why God’s wrath? (Religious offenses)

2. Be Silent

the LORD has consecrated & invited – 1:7

1:7-13 = Consecrated or Complacent?

3. Be Ready

day of the LORD is near, coming quickly – 1:14

1:14-18 = How then should we live? (2 Peter 3:10-14)

Conclusion: the Sovereign LORD consumes and consecrates

Prepare for His coming by being consecrated by & for Him
