It is better to suffer for doing good if it is God’s will (3:17)

Three callings for the Good

  1. Good devotion toward virtue – verses 8-14

Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it

Five Virtues:

 

Fear of the LORD – Psalm 34

  1. Good defense toward faith – verses 15-17

Always be prepared to give an answer…reason for hope

  1. Good distinction toward God – verses 18-22

The pledge of a good conscience toward God

“For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God

 

Benediction: Psalm 34:8-9

Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. Fear the Lord, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing.
