I’m so glad we don’t have one of those church signs with the constantly changing “cute phrases” because I would never have enough of the creative juices needed to keep up with that task. You know what I am talking about don’t you? You probably have seen the one that reads,

“What is missing from CH _ _ CH?”

“U R”

I know they are a little bit corny (and I am off the cob), but there is some truth to be found in these sayings. You are missed from the church family when you cannot attend, participate and share your gifts.  The Word of God is clear that each one is needed, valuable and belong as part of the “church body” (1 Corinthians 12), so when part of the body is absent we all feel it. Last Sunday I saw and overheard people praying for one another, rejoicing over answers to prayer and saw people devoted to being “the church”

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. … Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts.” – Acts 2:42 & 46

There are lots of reasons why we miss church on Sunday, meeting together, so I have a challenge for us all as we head into the Easter season:

Let’s make Sunday mornings “strong” in the next few weeks so that we can see who we really are as a church body. Let’s get to know the LivingWaters family better by connecting on Sundays.  Then on Easter, April 1, we will recognize one another and those who are visiting with us!

You can help us make Sunday mornings stronger by …

  • Committing to regular Sunday morning worship of God
  • Coming to the education hour to grow in God’s Word
  • Connecting with a Sunday morning ministry to serve God (worship team, teaching children or youth, nursery, greeters, ushers, refreshments and many more opportunities)
  • Covering the morning and others in prayer – seeking God
  • Connecting with others in the body of Christ

“If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it” – 1 Corinthians 12:26

Let’s comfort and encourage one another, let’s weep with, rejoice with and value one another as we seek to honor God together.

“Too hard to keep changing church sign.
Sin bad; Jesus good. Details inside”
